Disgrace

I have had my disagreements with President Bush, but nothing he has done is as disgraceful as having the race huckster Al Sharpton to the White House for a Black History month event.
I’m going to be blunt here. Al Sharpton is a person who contributed nothing of value to this country. He is a demoagogue and racist. He has no business business being part of an event that honors truly great black men and women – people who truly suffered through bigotry and oppression and heroically fought for equal rights. Al Sharpton isn’t even worth sniffing their jocks.
And if you think what I said about this person is harsh, go ask Steven Pagones and the families of those who were killed at Fredie’s Fashion Mart what they think of Sharpton.
H/t: Michelle Malkin.

And yet there are people who defended this clown for eight years who now tell us they’d prefer Hillary to McCain.
It’s been some time since I defended Bush and I certainly won’t start doing so now. This may be a new low indeed. Really makes you wonder who advises the man.
Like you I certainly had my differences with Giuliani. But what a contrast from the way Rudy himself has handled Sharpton in the past. How his presidency could have been so much more successful if Bush had the same type of balls that would enable him to say “hell no” at the idea of dignifying Rev Al like this.
Also reminds me how in 8 years Bush just couldn’t find it in his busy schedule to appear personally at the annual March for Life, which just happens to take place in his frontyard. This year he was naturally in Saudi Arabia, but he phoned in to say hi. Thanks! Won’t be seen on stage with pro-lifers at a rally of the faithful, but happy to greet Sharpton for the cause of Black History Month (a concept which I think cheapens our shared multi-colored American history anyway).
Sharpton is brilliant and politically astute in many ways. But he’s also a racist who has left a trail of so much strife and suffering wherever he brings his fat ass. Shame on Bush.
