The Giants have released Plaxico Burress today.  Good riddance. On the other hand, the Mets have signed Gary Sheffield.  Ugh.  I guess we could do worse than $400,000 for an occasional pinch-hit homer.

Now we switch to the junior circuit, where all the action is really in one division.  But there are two others, and unfortunately they each get to send one team to the post-season, knocking out at least one team that would romp in these weak sisters.
