Hope and change!  A new breed of politics!  Post-partisanship!

If you are one of idiots who actually brought into any of these slogans, can you please do us all a favor and stay out of the voting booth next time?  As a matter of fact, it would probably be a good idea if you just generally stayed off the roads, refrained from operating heavy machinery, or doing anything else that might impact your fellow citizens.  Although I’m sure you’d make a good replacement for Paula Abdul on American Idol.

President Obama is not a “new breed” of politician.  He is a Chicago thug who is simply uninterested in dissent. Here is Obama addressing a mob group of his sycophants supporters in Virginia:

“I don’t want the folks who created the mess do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.”

Just “get out of the way.”  This is how the President of the United States of America addresses people who are opposed to his policies.

Yeah, we’re just nuts to note to quasi-fascistic tendencies of this administration.

Update: Perhaps I should have added “or else” to the title of the post.

St. Louis County police say six people were arrested. Two of those were arrested on suspicion of assault, one of resisting arrest and three on suspicion of committing peace disturbances. Carnahan was gone when the ruckus started.

Kenneth Gladney, a 38-year-old conservative activist from St. Louis, said he was attacked by some of those arrested as he handed out yellow flags with Don’t tread on me printed on them. He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room of the St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was waiting to be treated for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face that he suffered in the attack. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack started.

And here’s the video.

Good to see Americans so united in Obama’s America.

The video appears to show SEIU members in clearly labeled t-shirt uniforms agitating some trouble. Obama supporters also tried to block election polling places in the form of the New Black Panthers Party. They also wore uniforms, that time of the quasi-military type. Obama is on record as wanting a National Citizen Army. People should start paying attention to the details in these things before it’s too late to change things.

I always thought O was supposed to be some sharp smooth politician, but aside from the obviously hideously wrong moral and legal perspectives of all this, the way opposition to O’s plan has been handled is just plain stupid from a PR perspective.

C Matt: That’s something that mystifies me as well. Even if we discount the slightly fascist overtones of these developments, I don’t understand how the White House can be this tone deaf. It’s possible that Obama has an over-inflated sense of his political abilities and really does think that he can wow the American voter by the very essence of his being. He really has no conception of how the average American perceives all this and I think it shows that he was woefully unprepared to take on the office of the presidency.

Someone in his administration is eventually going to have a Yamamoto moment regarding this attempt to bludgeon opponents:

“I fear all we have done is to rouse a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

I wonder if we aren’t seeing an exaggerated replay of the first Clinton term.

If you recall, President Clinton staffed his first White House mostly with campaigners. These folks had “mad phat” campaigning skills but neither the instincts nor the competence to navigate Washington. Remember the Supreme Court Nominee fiascos? What of the Surgeon General who hated all of our “pale faced, celibate priests?

Here we have something similar I think: a Chief of Staff who is really a campaign strategist, managing an amateur staff of provincials.

Since EVERY president is overwhelmed at first, a staff that is focused on the campaign, rather than governance, is a serious liability.

Democrats are taking the wrong message from the recent protests at their town hall meetings. One of them was quoted this morning as saying that he was going to get a health care plan through regardless of what a bunch of protesters wanted. Others have just cancelled their meetings thus denying their constituents any voice. This should backfire in a big way. As Mr. McClarey commented earlier, I believe democrats’ arrogance has awakened a sleeping giant.
They continue to patronize the average American and seem to think that they can get away with it. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
