Oh, and about New York . . . City, that is

Mike Bloomberg may be a nanny-state nuisance, and his re-election has been a lot closer than I would have expected, but it is still a remarkable victory in one sense.  This now marks the fifth consecutive mayoral election in which the Democrats failed to win in a city where Democrats outnumber Republicans by something like 2,000,000 o 1 (give or take).  Oh, sure, they still have a complete monopoly on the City Council, but how the hell do you fail to win one solitary election in two decades in such a liberal city?

    I’d buy that except Bloomberg is just a Democrat who is to ashamed to admit it.
